The Future of Roe is on the Line

This is a major week in the fight for abortion rights.

Today, starting at 10:00am ET, the U.S. Supreme Court will be hearing oral arguments for two major lawsuits challenging Texas’s near-total ban on abortions – one brought by the Department of Justice and one from a coalition of providers, led by Whole Woman’s Health and Whole Woman’s Health Alliance. They gave just 10 days’ notice about the hearing and refused to halt enforcement of Senate Bill 8. It will be the first abortion case argued before the nation’s highest court since conservatives have held a 6-3 majority.

SB 8 is the most extreme abortion ban yet, but it is also the latest in a decades-long series of attacks on abortion in Texas. With each restriction, more and more people are left behind, unable to get the abortion care they need. Every day that SB 8 is in place is another day of cruelty.

The future of Roe v. Wade is on the line, but our fight is far from overPlease make an emergency donation to fuel our critical work.

To add to the significance of this week, election day is tomorrow, and all eyes are on Virginia for races that are too close for comfort. The seats for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Attorney General and the House of Delegates are all up for election. If you live in Virginia, please get out and vote for reproductive freedom champions. This election could overturn years of abortion rights progress in the Commonwealth. If you live elsewhere, research the legislators and measures on your ballots and make your voice heard.

Now more than ever, we need abortion advocates like you to step up in the fight for abortion rights.
