Questions About Abortion?

Abortion is ending a pregnancy by choice. There are two primary methods for abortion available: medication abortion (or the “abortion pill”) and an in-clinic abortion procedure (through aspiration or dilation and evacuation, D&E). These options may change or become limited depending on your preferences, the length of the pregnancy, or the state you live in.

To obtain an abortion, you must contact your nearest clinic and schedule an appointment. Appointments can last anywhere between 3-6+ hours, depending on a number of factors. You will also need to locate transportation and secure payment for the abortion. Most clinics require payment at the time of the appointment, but are also able to accept insurance or financial assistance.
