Here’s Why You Should Support WWHA This Giving Tuesday

Abortion care helps people thrive. That’s a fact.

Did you know that our clinics serve patients from all over the country? Since the fall of Roe, the landscape of abortion care has drastically changed, leaving millions of people of reproductive age without access to abortion care. Our clinics and programming (like Wayfinder) have reached people across all four corners of the country. Our resolve to offer care in Minnesota and Virginia has never wavered. We have helped folks across the Midwest and South in Wisconsin, Nebraska, Kansas, North Dakota, Ohio, Texas, Alabama, Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, and so on.

That care is made possible because of people like you.

This Giving Tuesday, please donate to WWHA so all people can be met with love and compassion when they decide to have an abortion. It is because of supporters like you, that we can help people access abortion care and thrive. Donate now!

What you might not know is that WWHA is an independent non-profit abortion clinic that relies on support from people like you in order to provide care in the communities we serve. Independent clinics like ours provide 3 out of every 5 abortions in the U.S. each year, and the majority of abortions after the first trimester.

Serving patients with compassionate abortion care is our number one priority. We wouldn’t be able to do that without our clinics in Charlottesville, Virginia, and Bloomington, Minnesota. In reality, the cost of providing this care is significant. It takes over $90,000 a month to keep our clinics open.

The forced closure of our clinics in Austin, Texas, and South Bend, Indiana, has reinforced our mission to provide care to those unable to receive abortion care in their own communities. We continue to see patients harassed by protestors as well as ordinances attempting to scare patients out of traveling for the essential care that they deserve.

This Giving Tuesday, please consider making a gift to support our mission and ensure that our clinics are here for generations of pregnant people who need them. Every dollar helps us – donate now

When an anti-abortion judge attempted to roll back the use of the abortion drug, Mifepristone, we sued the FDA to ensure our patients in Virginia would still have the ability to access medication abortion care. While we wait for the Supreme Court to determine the availability of medication abortion for the country, we remain ready to fight back against any legislation or court decision that would restrict care for our patients.

WWHA engages in purposeful litigation in the states where we operate, leading the fight to protect and expand this fundamental human right. We also regularly partner with coalitions, abortion funds, practical support networks, advocacy groups, and clergy members in every community where we have clinics to build a strong and loud voice for abortion rights and access. What’s more, we raise our voice in local, state, and national media outlets to shift the conversation around abortion.

Abortion rights are on the line, and your support is needed now more than ever. This Giving Tuesday, please make a gift to WWHA so we can keep showing up, day after day, in major litigation, coalition work, and the media. Every single dollar goes towards fighting for abortion rights and, hell yes, for the right to thrive. Donate now.

The right to abortion is meaningless without the ability to pay for it.

The Stigma Relief Fund (SRF) is an abortion fund serving people who seek abortion care at any Whole Woman’s Health clinic. It’s been removing financial and logistical barriers to abortion access since 2004 and is a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF). In addition to funding the cost of the abortion procedure, the SRF can be used for practical support such as travel, lodging, food, and other costs associated with abortion care.

This Giving Tuesday, please make a donation to the Stigma Relief Fund. Supporting the SRF is one of the most powerful things you can do to make abortion more immediately accessible during these scary times. Every dollar counts in ensuing that no one gets left behind. Donate now.
