When abortions are legal, people thrive, and you guessed it… we all benefit.
Did you know that the most common feeling after having an abortion is relief? According to a landmark study, 99% of people who had an abortion said they made the right decision for them. This reinforces what we know to be true: people should have access to abortion care when they need it so that they have the power to build their family if, when, and how they want to. That’s why abortions help people thrive.
The patients keep Telisa from WWH of Austin going. “I want to hear their voices, listen to their concerns, and be an advocate for them. Many of them don’t have someone they can talk to, but I’ll be here.” Sandra from WWH of South Bend also knows her work is meaningful. “It takes a lot of strength to even come to the door, and we recognize that. There’s all this noise and chatter in society and culture about what abortion is, but the reality is that nobody knows until they are faced with the choice.”
This Giving Tuesday, please donate to WWHA so all people can be met with love and compassion when they decide to have an abortion. It is because of supporters like you, *informal name*, that we can help people access abortion care and thrive. Donate now!
The right to abortion is meaningless without the ability to pay for it.
The Stigma Relief Fund (SRF) is an abortion fund serving people who seek abortion care at any Whole Woman’s Health clinic. It’s been removing financial and logistical barriers to abortion access since 2004 and is a member of the National Network of Abortion Funds (NNAF). In addition to funding the cost of the abortion procedure, the SRF can be used for practical support such as travel, lodging, food, and other costs associated with abortion care.
This Giving Tuesday, please make a donation to the Stigma Relief Fund. Supporting the SRF is one of the most powerful things you can do to make abortion more immediately accessible during these scary times. Every dollar counts in ensuing that no one gets left behind. Donate now.
Serving patients with compassionate abortion care is our number one priority. We wouldn’t be able to do that without WWHA’s clinics in Austin, Texas, Charlottesville, Virginia, and South Bend, Indiana. It takes about $75,000 a month to keep 3 of our clinics open.
What you might not know is that WWHA is an independent non-profit abortion clinic that relies on support from people like you in order to provide care in the communities we serve. Independent clinics like ours provide 3 out of every 5 abortions in the U.S. each year and the majority of abortions after the first trimester.
It’s also part of our mission to open clinics in areas of the Midwest and South where patients need us most and where legislators are most hostile to abortion care. We face continuous attacks from elected officials who seek to diminish the importance of our work and shut us down. Hundreds of clinics have been forced to close in the last 10 years and continue to close at an alarming rate.
Attacks against abortion rights are at an all-time high, and the threat to legal abortion care has never been more real. Giving Tuesday is today, and every single $1 goes towards fighting for abortion rights, for pregnant people’s rights, and hell yes, for the right to thrive.
WWHA engages in purposeful litigation in the states where we operate, leading the fight to protect and expand this fundamental human right. We also regularly partner with coalitions, abortion funds, practical support networks, advocacy groups, and clergy members in every community where we have clinics to build a strong and loud voice for abortion rights and access. What’s more, we raise our voice in local, state, and national media outlets to shift the conversation around abortion.
Abortion rights are on the line, and your support is needed now more than ever. This Giving Tuesday, please make a gift to WWHA so we can keep showing up, day after day, in major litigation, coalition work, and the media. Every single dollar goes towards fighting for abortion rights and, hell yes, for the right to thrive. Donate now.
